Dear Farmington Community,
The Farmington Volunteer Fire Association, Inc., has carefully reviewed the decision regarding hosting the 2020 Pumpkin Hook Fireman’s Carnival. We regret to inform you that we are canceling most of the carnival and parade this year slated to be held July 30th through August 1st. The health and safety of our residents and surrounding communities continue to be our biggest priority and we feel that this is in the best interest for everyone.
We know that our event is a staple to the Farmington community and this will be the first time it’s been canceled in its 72-year history. Since the carnival is a substantial fund-raising event for our department, we hope that you would please consider donating to the Farmington Volunteer Fire Association, Inc., during our upcoming annual fund drive.
Please note: We will still have the chicken bar-b-q on Saturday, August 1st, at the carnival grounds, noon until it’s sold out! It will be drive-through style at the very least. We hope to have take-out beer as an additional option. As more details are clarified, we’ll post them on our Pumpkin Hook Carnival-Official Facebook Page.
The Farmington Volunteer Fire Association, Inc., continues to be 100% volunteer. The department is always looking for new members to assist with serving the residents we protect and applications can be found on our website at farmingtonfd.org.
As a community we will get through this together and will be eager to see everyone again for the 2021 Pumpkin Hook Fire Department Carnival.
Sincerely,
Mr. Scott Parker, Carnival Chair
Farmington Volunteer Fire Association, Inc.
